Keston Road - Project 1

The clients wanted to grow into their Peckham home rather than move out as they loved the area so much. They needed a modern office with high speed connection, great temperature regulation and a fitness area while retaining the generous storage the loft previously provided. They also wanted to take the opportunity to refresh their home inside and out, including repairing all plasterwork, introducing a new colour scheme, refurbishing the sash windows and reglazing the side return to improve both its appearance and efficiency.

The new rear dormer extension was carefully designed, raising the existing ridge to provide a state-of-the art office, fitness area and generous storage. Detale CPH's Kabric textured paint adds depth to the office walls, complimenting a beautiful engineered wood floor and high performance glazing. The large storage room features generous skylights and could easily be a further bedroom. The stairwell feels airier and lighter with a large roof-light making the most of the new volume while supporting temperature regulation. The master bedroom on the outrigger was redesigned to level the floor and extend the new engineered wood floor and incorporates a stunning mural and dark green palette. This was the prime opportunity to refresh the house inside and out, so a new exterior colour scheme was devised to align the traditional sashes, external plasterwork and rendering to the new zinc cladding and soft grey aluminium glazing at the rear of the house.
