Lasercut v1.0

An open source project exploring the potential of laser cutting technology and its application to the production of fashion objects and within the fashion industry generally.

In this example an A4 sheet of 2.0mm card is scribed by laser to produce parts for the assembly of a pair of “designer” glasses.  Through a process of experimentation the cutting pattern has been optimised to allow all parts to be friction fitted together without glue.  In addition to any environmental benefit, glueless connections have been employed for their decorative potential, providing opportunities for aesthetic expression without the need for additional material or surface treatments.
